Sinopsis Drama
Drama “Short” berkisar kisah dua orang pemuda yang bermain skating, Ho-young dan Eunho. Ho-young, seorang yang happy go lucky mendapat biasiswa selepas memenangi pertandingan skating didaearahnya lalu diterima masuk ke sebuah sport foundation.
Dia menumpang dirumah kawannya Man Bok untuk sementara waktu. Disana dia berjumpa dengan Eunho; dilakonkan oleh Yeo Hoe-hyun. Atlet berbakat besar, bapanya, sport foundationnya dan ramai orang mengharapkan dia memenangi pertandingan yang membolehkannya layak bertanding dalam sukan Olimpik. Namun, dia gagal. Kecewa dengan dirinya dan tekanan ramai orang, dia mula rebel dan protes.
Eunho dan Hoyoung berjumpa semula di sport foundation. Permusuhan mereka bukan saja untuk merebut tempat dalam pertandingan skating, malah untuk memenangi hati saudaranya Man Bok. Apa yang bermula dengan permusuhan, ego dan persaingan rupanya membantu kedua atlet ini membaiki kekurangan mereka.
Akhirnya prestasi mereka berdua meningkat dan sedar mereka memerlukan satu sama lain.
My Comment
This is weird because Im not rooting the main or second lead actor but the supporting actor, Man Bok and Chairman Assistant. Their acting is good, expression on point and realistic. Man Bok show the realistic aspect of life more than the main character (Eunho) “childish” issue.
Assistant is a sly and opportunistic sidekick. He shows the real side of people, willing to do anything for the boss. Also, his facial expression always on point.
Man Bok had a loving family, arguing and demand attention from his little sister; work hard for his mom and a supportive friend. He is desperate to get into the team and betray his friend to helps his family.
Main character, look like combination of Hyungsik and Seo In Guk, a bit of Minho too. and Eunho look like ZEA Dongho.
Seriously what is Jina character supposed to be? Every other scene she is just dancing for her audition. The only back story she had was she used to skate before her injury & it frustrated her that she can’t do things she good at. And reel up Hoyoung& Eunho just to get her attention. Other than that, not that important.
Jina character is played by Weki Meki group member Kim Doyeon. Weki Meki is under Fantagio company which Hoyoung (Kang Tae-oh) under . So I think they just put her in this drama to cross promo only, like how SM always put few of their idol in a drama.
I think the wise character here is Manbok sister. She’s a sport medicine student who analyze each player & pinpoint their strength and weakness. She also wise to get Eunho his “punishment”. Quitting is really a coward act, but getting his brother better is a smarter deal.
Some scene is wasted like Kangbaek is actually Eunho & Hoyoung father name together. Jina audition is what? Supposed to bring those two boys together? Convince Manbok sis to break stereotype with sexy underwear?
It’s a short drama so I understand the fast pace & jumpy scene. But what frustrates me is the not important scene that is too long. It doesn’t add any explanation or show important scene. Scene like planning birthday, birthday party, karaoke if not included, wont be a problem.
Sportmanship, friendship, betrayal, lack of affection rich kid, a little bit of romance; all these theme in a short drama I think it’s a lot. Might be better if they just focus on a few themes only.
In short, its good drama to pass the time, just don’t expect too much.
